Therapy Helping Others, Understand, Grow, Heal, Think & Talk Safely
I provide counselling for: Adults, Individuals, Couples, Children and young persons aged from 4 and above.
My services are for general counselling providing support for a range/all issues, difficulties & topics ranging from, sexual abuse, abuse, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies/suicide, self-harm, loneliness, stress, family and parental related issues, male issues, female issues, sexuality, identity issues, bereavement.
Working with those from all walks of life regardless of gender, race, beliefs or faith, immigration & visa issues, image, confidence, self-esteem, self worth, financial related issues, relationship/marital issues. Also to highlight you can be of any walk of life or race to work with me & what I work with is not limited to what is shown above.
I am a part of & have extensive understanding of the BAME community, there is still a stigma about people of colour approaching therapy, I feel as a cultured counsellor, this allows me to work more understandingly with others. Hopefully enabling people to feel they can speak openly about race, culture, traditions, colourism & other topics that might be relevant to the BAME community. I have worked with many people that are a part of the BAME community & most clients that are of it, request a counsellor with that in common (in my experience) which really shows the relevance & need for this choice. Particularly amongst black and asian men which is another significant factor in why I am passionate about this work, people of all colours & races suffer but I do have a particular interest in Mental health & the male BAME community. I personally haven't come across many male therapists of this background & a lack in male therapists generally. Bringing awareness & change in this area is something I strongly hope to bring as I am very passionate about this & all areas of therapy.
My LGBTQ+ focused service is for anyone that may identify to be apart of this community both openly or not. It provides discreet support, this isn't to make people hide who they are but rather respecting the fact that many may identify differently or not be ready to accept this. Many people in this world are having affairs, feeling forced into straight marriage or relationships, or made to feel society, family, friends, culture, religion will not accept them which is very possible. Whether you are "undercover", having an affair or struggling, this isn't encouraged but I will not judge you as it's your life and story. I am passionate about providing a space for those to explore themselves further, figure out what they want to do going forward or even just wanting to express themselves through these challenges. You don't have to change your ways, views or life but knowing you are not alone and can safely speak without judgement might be helpful. If you do wish to work towards acceptance, or being open with yourself, loved ones or whatever it is, this is a space to start this.
I am an LGBTQ+ counsellor & have faced many challenges & difficulties including race, culture, religious, environmental related issues. It can be really hard finding someone you feel you can speak to about this which why I am hoping some self disclosure might be helpful in knowing you are not alone, it might also be helpful having a counsellor who really understands some of your experiences being able to provided the support you need with a great understanding of sexuality, identity & gender issues, sexual related issues, safety, the LGBTQ+ community & the impacts both negative & positive experiences, thoughts, feelings that can or may have occurred.
